Vacancy – Insurance Officer

LICI seeks to recruit suitably eligible persons for the following positions at its office located at Suva.

 

Insurance Officer (Technical) x 3 positions

 

The positions are a three-year contract with a possibility for extension, subject to satisfactory work performance. The current placement is at the location specified above. The candidate must, however, be prepared to work at any of our Fiji offices, which are currently situated in Suva, Lautoka and Labasa.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Accounting for premiums received from all banks and doing monthly reconciliation.
  • Provide excellent service to customers specially policy related customer services to the walk-in customers
  • Processing of maturity claims, survival benefits, death claims & disability claim payments
  • Preparation of monthly reports related to work status, schedules, FRCS compliances, regulatory reports etc.
  • Assure timely, correct, and complete delivery of all deliverables in accordance with the established procedures, policy directives, and applicable laws.
  • Flexibility to work in any area and carry out the assignment quickly and correctly.
  • Any additional duty that may be assigned from time to time.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualification: A degree is preferred in the area of finance, accounting, or any other insurance related discipline. A final-year student who will graduate in 2023 can also apply.
  • Soft skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills; courteous, dedicated and disciplined.
  • Knowledge of computers: MS Office and email.
  • Candidates having prior work experience in any financial institution will be preferred.

Other Conditions

  • The selection process will be divided into two stages: a preliminary round (phase 1) and a final round (phase 2).
  • Out-stationed candidates from locations other than Suva will have the option to appear for Phase 1 of the interview process virtually (through Zoom).
  • All the selected candidates from Phase I will have to appear personally for Phase 2 of the interview at our Suva office.
  • The remuneration is based on customary local terms and conditions. The contractual conditions are based on local laws.
  • The selected candidates will have to undergo a medical examination and obtain a police clearance certificate.
  • On-the-job training for the selected candidates will be provided for the areas of responsibility as necessary.

Salary: An annual starting salary of FJ$ 13,839 (subject to annual revision due from 01.08.2022) is payable fortnightly, along with other benefits such as an annual increment, reimbursement of medical expenses (FJ$2000 per annum), Interest free advance equivalent to two months’ pay, technical qualification allowance, gratuity and leave encashment (terminal as well as in service), growth opportunity with promotion to a higher cadre, subject to certain conditions and as per LICI rules. The starting annual salary (including benefits) after confirmation will be FJ$ 15,839 (subject to revision) for the first year.
